How They Met: Meghan and Michael met on a dating app in March 2017 and went on their first date the day after a late-winter snowstorm. At The Immigrant in the East Village, they bonded over their realization that they had a close mutual friend, worked in the same industry, and shared an unbeatable connection. After chatting for hours that seemed to fly by, they walked together to the Astor Place subway stop, where Mike would travel downtown to FiDi and Meghan would head back up to Kips Bay. Their relationship took off from that point onward, and they’ve shared many special memories since that first night. They love cheering on the Yankees and Nets together, spending time with friends (including hosting a legendary Christmas party every year), and traveling near and far, preferably to a beach. Mike’s fun-loving, caring nature and Meghan’s bubbly, positive attitude are the perfect match!

  The Proposal: It all began with a pretend invitation to a brunch double date with friends downtown at a nice restaurant, so Meghan would be sure to wear something photo-worthy. As they made their way towards Nolita, Mike suggested enjoying the weather and walking from Union Square. After getting off the train at 14th Street, the couple cut through Astor Place, the same place they had parted ways after their first date. Mike had organized a guitarist to play a few of the couple’s favorite songs to give them a reason to stop. As the musician played “Thunder Road” by Bruce Springsteen, one of their most beloved artists, Mike got down on one knee in front of the picturesque subway exterior and proposed. Meghan was completely surprised, and the afternoon continued with a stop at The Immigrant, where it all began, for a quick photo followed by brunch with their families in the East Village. That night, Meghan and Mike continued the celebration at karaoke with friends, memorably singing “Chapel of Love” by the Dixie Cups.
