Ivor & Michelle

How They Met: Ivor and Michelle met at the age of 11, when both of their families had moved from the United States to Shanghai. Although they attended the same middle and high schools, they didn’t get to know one another until senior year of high school, thanks to Michelle’s best friend, who arranged for them to meet. They attended prom together, and throughout college, she at Michigan and he at Cornell, they dated long distance.

The Proposal: While walking their dog along the East River in New York, coordinated with the photographer Ivor had hired, he surprised Michelle with a proposal. They spent the rest of that beautiful day exploring Governors Island, ending with dinner in Seaport by the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Ring: Ivor proposed to Michelle with an Antique Cushion cut diamond set in our classic 3-stone setting with tapered baguettes in platinum.
